Scilicet, always Scilicet
Each preparatory volume for the wap Congress echoes the title Lacan chose for his revue, Scilicet, which he presented to his readers with this exhortation: "You may know!".
Scilicet 2026—There is no sexual relation is the eleventh volume in the series. It is to be hoped that this Scilicet will constitute a fine addition to our knowledge, counteracting the "not wanting to know anything" that is characteristic of the functioning of the unconscious. Readers will also be able to verify the usefulness of Scilicet in better understanding the modalities that attempt to make the sexual relationship exist, today.
What's new in the eleventh Scilicet
For this next Scilicet, a new way of composition has been invented. It invites reflection on the aphorism "There is no sexual relation" based on other aphorisms taken from Freud's work, Lacan's teaching and Jacques-Alain Miller's "Lacanian orientation". An aphorism has been assigned to each cartel, without any plus-one or cartel member having access to all the aphorisms.
The WAP as a working community
After being developed in the cartel, each text was reread by a pair of colleagues. Why these re-readings? So that the texts in Scilicet, before publication, can be worked on by new colleagues—more than 400 members of the wap are thus involved in the production process of the volume—and, in return, can receive new insights. A dialectic is created.
This new volume will make it possible to verify the "The École's success" which, according to Lacan, "will be measured by the appearance of works that are receivable in their place".[1]
This edition of Scilicet, as printed in the five languages of the wap, is included in the registration fee for the Congress.
Those who are not participating in the Congress can consult their School's website to obtain a copy.
